Take Action: How You Can Support Older Adults
Get all of your COVID Shots
Getting vaccinated is one of the most important steps you can take to protect yourself, your family and your community from COVID-19. For many older adults and those with ongoing conditions like heart disease and diabetes, the vaccine can prevent severe illness or death from the coronavirus, including the highly contagious and infectious variants.
The Lake County Health Department provides support for COVID-19 vaccine registration through its AllVax Support Center, Mondays-Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. by phone at (847) 377-8130, and by email at AllVax@lakecountyil.gov.
Get a Flu Shot
Getting a flu shot is especially important for older adults, who account for most hospitalizations and deaths from flu and from COVID-19, according to the CDC.
